GLENWOOD / MONTEREY — October 30, 2026. Families living near Glenwood Circle and Monterey Peninsula College have a free science outing coming up: the college’s fourth annual Family STEM Day takes place Saturday, November 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at MPC’s Monterey campus, 980 Fremont Street.

The event is open to the public, with free admission for children and adults. MPC has announced hands-on experiments, demonstrations, games, arts and crafts, a giant inflatable slide and community groups introducing families to science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Admission is free, but food and treats from on-site vendors may be purchased separately.

What will children be able to try?

MPC’s official event page describes a STEM Zone with interactive learning, a Community Zone featuring local organizations, and a Family Fun Zone with games, face painting, craft stations and a photo booth. A separate food area and live entertainment are also planned.

The college’s September 24 announcement lists participation from chemistry, earth sciences, mathematics, biology and marine biology, nursing, kinesiology, the MPC Library and other college departments. Young visitors can discover how classroom science connects with local marine life, engineering, health careers and technology.

Community partners from around Monterey Bay

Among the organizations the college named in advance are the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Joby, Monterey Audubon, Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History, Sea Otter Savvy, Ventana Wildlife Society, MY Museum Wheelie Mobile and MIRA. The final lineup may change before November 7. Visitors should not assume every exhibitor or activity will run continuously throughout the entire four-hour window.

The Glenwood neighborhood lies close to MPC, which means an event on campus can be a convenient local family activity and a way to connect residents to educational programs serving Monterey County. This is a community-calendar article, not a claim that the event has already taken place.
